Sydney & Panzer

I had a wonderful opportunity to photograph two beautiful horses. Fortunately, the weather was perfect & the sun was shining. Here are some of my favorites!

Sydney & Panzer - Best Buddies

Every morning Derek and I woke up to watch the sunrise. There was some cloud cover but the sun eventually poked through.

In the lower lobby of our hotel there was a monstrous fish tank. Some of the fish were gigantic, include rays that had a 9ft. wing span. In addition to walking around the fish tank and seeing inside, you could go outside and look down into it. This is where we saw the feedings. It was quite an experience.

The most obvious architecture of Atlantis, The Royal Towers (The Cove is in the back right). We stayed in the West tower on the 14th floor. Since they build hotels without the 13th floor due to superstition, were we really on the 13th floor? I don’t understand how that works.

The beautiful lagoon is deceiving. Underneath the calm surface is a handful of hammer head sharks. There are signs warning vacationers not to swim in these dangerous waters; ironically, there is literally nothing stopping you from wading in the water. Only a sign? Hmmm…interesting. On the other hand, there are no signs suggesting it is dangerous to walk through the lagoon…

Such a wonderful trip! Special thanks to those that made it happen!

Happy Thanksgiving!

New England is beautiful this time of year! I took the trek up to Maine last weekend to capture the last of the foliage, that is before mother nature takes over.

Derek and I celebrated our one year wedding anniversary yesterday. We went out to dinner at Monponsett Inn, where we had our reception. and went home to test out our frozen cake.  For anyone that is not aware, it is tradition to take home the top tier of your wedding cake and eat it on your first anniversary. Fortunately, the cake was absolutely amazing! It was delicious.

The flowers did get squished along with the side of the cake…but it all tastes the same anyway.  Special thanks to my parents for “freezing” it correctly!

Take a look at the before and after!

family dinner

The newest member of the extended family (my cousin’s puppy).  Meet Yogi!

Major Side note:
Today we had a great Sunday family dinner at my cousins’ house. During the summer, whenever we have an outing that involves friends, family, and food I automatically refer to it as a barbecue. I do not distinguish the type of food we eat as barbequing…it doesn’t matter what we eat it’s summer in the sun and family fun!

Derek pointed out today that my Italian side of the family doesn’t exactly barbecue (very often). Given my typical non-specific description of a family barbecue this weekend, he anticipated burgers and hot dogs, the bbq staple meal, but he was pleasantly surprised when we arrived. Appetizers include cheese  & crackers, bread with dipping oil, pepperoni, olives etc.  Dinner usually involves pasta, chicken, salad, and sausage or beef. Don’t think we are done yet…you can forget my favorite part – dessert! Dessert involves way too much to name, but some of my favorites are whoopie pies, lemon squares, pitsalies, & cheesecake (usually there is at least one desert per person which means junk food overload…but oh so delicious.)

Anyway, I guess I need to be more food specific when we have a family dinner.
